Badal to retire in February

Barnhart, Strain top UJ

Bellevue was the heavy favorite going into the NSAA/Midlands national-qualifier.

Monday, the Bruins proved it.

Bellevue, Neb., holds a comfortable lead in the men’s and women’s tournament at Quarry Oaks Golf Course in Omaha, Neb.

The University of Jamestown women are second and the men third going into today’s final round.

Michael Strain is tied for seventh after rounds of 71 and 78. The 71 was 1-under par. Tyler Baukol posted a 76 on the first 18 holes and was two better over the second 18.

Team-wise, the Jimmies are third, trailing Oklahoma Wesleyan by 11 shots, 600-611. Bellevue is in command at 572. They own the top three scores in the field going into play today.

Tommy Rockis (155), Chris Rochon (158) and Kameron Hunter (161) rounded out the Jimmie lineup.

On the women’s side, Ashley Barnhart carded a solid round of 82 and is seventh.

Bellevue golfers posted five of the top six scores en route to a team-total of 313. The Jimmies are second in the six-team field at 360.

Emily Larson is 11th after a round of 90.

Rebekah Kramer was three back of Larson at 93. Kiley Fuller (95) and Payton Koenig (98) also competed.
