Jays third in final poll
Jamestown High School landed at No. 3 in the final Class AA football media poll of the season following its convincing 52-15 victory Saturday at Grafton.
The Blue Jays jumped over Devils Lake for the third spot, earning five more points than the Firebirds. Shanley finished in the top spot with all 14 first-place votes, while West Fargo topped the final Class AAA poll.

Prices set for Jays' game
Jamestown High School will play Watford City in the quarterfinals of the state Class AA football playoffs Saturday at 2 p.m. at Ernie Gates Field.
Admission prices, set by the North Dakota High School Activities Association, will be $8 for adults and $5 for students. Jamestown Public School (JPS) passes will not be accepted.
Golf season over Sunday
Hillcrest Golf Course has announced the course and pro shop will close for the season on Oct. 29 and 5 p.m.

Peterson NSAA top defender
Elise Petersen, libero for the 19th-ranked University of Jamestown volleyball team, was named the North Star Athletic Association's defender of the week.
Petersen posted 24 digs and four aces during a 3-0 home sweep over Waldorf. She also posted a career-high 36 digs and an ace during Saturday's 3-2 loss to No. 2 Viterbo.
Ford wins XC race
Jamestown High School's Meghan Ford crossed first in the 4K Fargo South AC/DC Cross Country Invitational Saturday at Iwen Park in Fargo.
Ford finished with a time of 15 minutes, 27.62 seconds. She led the Blue Jays to a fourth-place finish (134) out of seven teams.
The Jamestown boys finished sixth (134) of seven teams. Chandlar Rott (14:26.29) led the way with a fifth-place finish in the 4k race.
