Twins sign Nolasco

Multiple reports have the Minnesota Twins signing starting pitcher Ricky Nolasco.

Nolasco, 30, is 89-75 with a 4.37 ERA in parts of eight seasons with the Miami Marlins and Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers acquired him from the Marlins in a July trade, and Nolasco went 8-3 with a 3.52 ERA during Los Angeles' playoff push.

Once the deal is completed, it will be the first significant offseason signing of a pitcher for the Twins in years.

Upgrading the pitching staff for the Twins was critical, coming off a third straight 90-plus loss season, which featured the worst starting staff in the league.
