Golden chance to see the Cup
The Stanley Cup.
Simply put, Lord Stanley's Cup is the most prestigious trophy in sports. It's not even arguable.
If you're a serious hockey fan and you haven't been up close and personal with the Stanley Cup, making that happen should be on your bucket list. It was on mine, and thanks to former UNDer Matt Greene, who brought the Cup to the Ralph a few years back, I was able to check it off.
But if you couldn't make it up to Grand Forks to take advantage of that opportunity, redemption is possible. Three-time Stanley Cup winner, former Pittsburgh Penguin and current Minnesota Wild center Matt Cullen, is bringing the Cup home to Moorhead this week. It's unlikely that central North Dakota hockey fans will have a better opportunity— just 90 miles, an hour-and-a-half drive.
This Thursday (Aug. 31) Cullen and the Cup will be at the Dairy Queen in downtown Moorhead from 1:30 to 4 p.m. A chance to get your picture taken with Matt Cullen and the Stanley Cup, and perhaps partake in a tasty treat.
That's not a bad way to bid farewell to the summer of 2017.
