Jays set records at state
Jamestown High School boys swimming and diving finished 10th of 15 teams at the state meet Saturday at Hulbert Aquatic Center in Fargo.
"We had a great weekend," said Blue Jay swimming and diving coach Ben Smith. "Four boys made it into the A finals on Saturday."
Senior Colton Carlson earned a new school record in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1 minute, 1.64 seconds. Carlson was two seconds behind the winner.
Fellow senior Jonas Flann placed eighth in the breaststroke. The duo was featured on the all-state second team for the Blue Jays.
The 200 medley relay team of Flann, Luca Flann, Noah Haglund and Carlson broke a school record with a time of 1:43.96 and placed sixth. The 200 freestyle relay team of Carlson, Luca Flann, Andy Pfeiffer and Jonas Flann finished fifth.
Jamestown had 10 swimmers compete Saturday in either an A or B final.
