Lore Hornung keeps up her German family tradition of making springerle at Christmastime, using wooden forms, including one more than 100 years old. Hornung grew up in Bad Rappenau, Germany, and married her husband, Glen, in 1955 in Germany when he was stationed there. They came to the United States in 1956, later moving to Jamestown.
