WEST FARGO -- West Fargo Police are warning the public to dress warmly after discovering a 51-year-old local woman shortly before 5 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, showing signs of frostbite and hypothermia. “The female did not have the proper clothing on to be out in the extremely cold temperatures,” a police announcement states, noting that she was sent by ambulance to Sanford Hospital for treatment. She had been discovered near the 800 block of Second Avenue West.
BEMIDJI, Minn. — A number of current, former and future Bemidji State women's hockey players have joined the U.S. women's national team's boycott of the upcoming women's World Championships, which start Thursday, March 30, in Plymouth, Mich. Former Beaver Stephanie Anderson, a member of Team USA's player pool, as well as current players Alexis Joyce and Emily Bergland, and incoming freshman Mak Langei, all said they would not be participating in the world championships. Team USA hopes to defend its gold medal from last season's world championships.
