Harriet Blackwell, 83, Jamestown, died Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at her home after a battle with cancer. Harriet Edith Van Den Eykel was born Nov. 28, 1926, in Lebanon, S.D., the daughter of John Harry and Ella (Wilcox) Van Den Eykel. The family moved to White Oak Township, Minnesota, southeast of Park Rapids, Minn. She attended West Bell Country School for eight years. In 1948 she moved to California and returned to Minnesota the following year. She worked as a seamstress for many years. She married Edward D. Blackwell on Nov. 23, 1957, in Las Vegas.

Jeffrey M. Heitzmann, 46, Mandan, N.D., formerly of Harvey, N.D., died Thursday, March 25, 2010, near Washburn, N.D. Mr. Heitzmann was born Feb. 28, 1964, at Harvey, the son of Theodore and Marion (Lang) Heitzmann. He grew up and attended school in Harvey, where he received his GED. He was once married to Roberta Marchand, Kim Logue and Kris Peterson. He lived in Harvey, Fargo, N.D., West Fargo, N.D., and Bismarck-Mandan, N.D. He worked for Roughrider Hardwoods in Bismarck as a carpenter, building custom-built staircases. He was also a cabinet maker.

Eddie Wesley Weippert, 88, Carrington, N.D., formerly of Sykeston, N.D., died Sunday, March 28, 2010, at his home after a battle with cancer. Mr. Weippert was born Nov. 22, 1921, on the family farm near Chaseley, N.D., the son of Jacob and Amelia (Brown) Weippert. He grew up and attended school at Chaseley and farmed with his father. He married Ethel Marie Becker on June 15, 1949, at St. Elizabeth's Church, Sykeston. They farmed and milked cows near Sykeston for 39 years. In 1954, he was chosen as a diversified farmer in Wells County, North Dakota. In 1988, they moved to Carrington.
Dennis Keith Kuska, age 53 of Moorhead, MN and formerly of Dickey, ND died Wednesday, March 24th at Moorhead, MN while under hospice care. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Adrian, ND with Rev. Thomas Puffe officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM Tuesday at the church with a prayer service beginning at 7 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services on Wednesday.
Fern Aipperspach, 93, Jamestown, died Saturday, March 27, 2010, at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown. Fern Isabelle Peterson was born Feb. 28, 1917, at Jamestown, the daughter of Peter A. and Isabelle (Swann) Peterson. She was raised and attended school in Jamestown. She married James Schmitt in the 1940s. They lived in Jamestown. She worked for Biss Cleaners, Jamestown; at the North Dakota State Hospital, Jamestown, as an activities therapist aid; and as an Avon lady. She married Daniel Aipperspach in 1955 at Aberdeen, S.D. She retired in 1974.
