Alan August Nannenga, 61, the son of August Helmer and DeVine (Jeske) Nannenga, born December 9, 1949, passed away October 22, 2011, at the Kindred Hospital, Fargo, ND. Alan graduated high school in Buchanan, ND. He attended college for a short time, but returned home to farm. On April 4, 1975 he married Susan (Tompkins) Falk. They operated their dairy farm in northwest Jamestown until 1993. He then worked at Dakota Growers Pasta Company for 11 years then became owner/operator of a trucking company until the time of his illness in the spring of 2011. Alan was an amazing dad.

Jacob Kuntz Jr. Jacob P. Kuntz, Jr., 93, died Oct. 22 at Eventide Hi-Acres Manor, where he had resided since August. Jake was born near Solen, ND on December 30, 1917 to Jacob, Sr. and Rose (Schwartz) Kuntz. He was married to Emma (Seidl) on Jan. 28, 1941 in Solen. Jake worked for more than 42 years for the North Pacific and Burlington-Northern railroad, retiring in 1979. He served with the 19th Combat Engineers in World War II in seven campaigns in North Africa, Sicily and Italy, including Kasserine Pass in North Africa, and the crossing of the Rapido River in Italy.

Michael J. Caulfield, 85, of West Fargo, ND, formerly of Jamestown, ND, died Wednesday, October 19, 2011 in West Fargo. Michael James Caulfield was born October 10, 1926, in Chicago, IL, the son of Michael James and Susan (McCullaugh) Caulfield. He attended Lady of Good Council School in Chicago until the family moved to Jamestown in 1937. Michael graduated from St. John's Academy in 1943. Michael married Dolores Maag in 1953. He worked for several companies before becoming employed by Ottertail Power Co. on November 29, 1944.
Frances Dockter, 82, Streeter, ND died October 20, 2011 at the Wishek Care Center in Wishek, ND. Frances Schaffer was born May 23, 1929 near Long Lake, SD, the daughter of August and Martha (Zelmer) Schaffer. She and Arthur M. Dockter were married April 6, 1955 at Aberdeen. They made their home on a farm NW of Streeter until moving into Streeter in 1963. She worked as a Green Thumb employee for the Streeter School and the City of Streeter.
