Ronald "Ron" Glodrey, 59, Gackle, N.D., died Thursday, July 7, 2011, at Medcenter One Hospital, Bismarck, N.D. Mr. Glodrey was born Sept. 18, 1951, at Jamestown, the son of Ray and Donna (Messenberg) Glodrey. He attended elementary school and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1969. In 1970, he started working for Curtis Electric, Jamestown. He married Lynne Hockert on June 22, 1974, in Jamestown. They lived in Jamestown. They moved to Bismarck where he worked as a journeyman electrician until 1986. He owned and operated Gackle Electric, Gackle, and worked as a master electrician.

Marlys Vining, 73, Jamestown, died Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown. Marlys Holm was born Aug. 8, 1937, in Kensal, N.D., the daughter of Gilbert and Violet (Bean) Holm. She graduated from Kensal High School, Kensal. She graduated from Valley City (N.D.) State College in 1957, where she earned her teaching certificate. She taught in several North Dakota communities. She married Darrell Vining on June 4, 1958, in Kensal. She worked at Coast to Coast Hardware, Anne Carslen Center and Central Dakota Village. She enjoyed cooking and baking.

Patricia Schmit, 89, Carrington, N.D., died Monday, July 4, 2011, at her home. Patricia June Caverly was born June 23, 1922, in Carrington, the daughter of Walter and Sara Caverly. She grew up and attended school in Carrington. She married Vincent Schmit on Nov. 29, 1953, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Bordulac, N.D. They lived on the Schmit family farm east of Bordulac. She enjoyed sewing, embroidering and cooking. She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Karla Topp and Bonnie (Tim) Seitz, both Fargo, N.D.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services: 10:30 a.m.
Mildred I. Engberg, age 96, of Carrington, ND, died Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at Golden Acres Manor, Carrington, ND. Mildred was born on June 18, 1915, the daughter of Ivan and Freda (McCarty) Sheets in Carrington. She was raised, attended and graduated school in Carrington. Mildred attended cosmetology school in Fargo, ND. On March 15 1942, Mildred was united in marriage to Roy Engberg in Carrington, where they shared their life. Mildred owned and operated LaVogue Beauty Salon for over 60 years.
Jerome L. Johnson, 79, of Jamestown, ND, died Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at his home in Jamestown, surrounded by his family. Jerome L. Johnson was born June 15, 1932, in Minot, ND, the son of Elmer and Dorothy (Lowry) Johnson. He grew up in Harvey, ND and graduated from Harvey Public Schools in 1950. Jerome entered the US Army on January 1, 1951 and served with the famous 2nd Infantry Div. - 23rd Regimental Tank Co. in Korea in the Battles of Alligator Jaw, Jane Russell, Pork Chop & Old Baldy. He was discharged Sgt. 1st Class on December 8, 1952.
Robert James "Jim" Babcock, 67, Fargo, N.D., died Thursday, June 30, 2011, at Essentia Hospital, Fargo. Mr. Babcock was born March 16, 1944, in Wall, S.D., the son of Robert and Elaine Babcock. He graduated from Wall High School, Wall, in 1962. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1963 to 1967 as an airplane mechanic on the USS Midway and USS Coral Sea aircraft carriers. He married Arlis Pascoe on May 31, 1968. He was self-employed as a carpenter until he retired in 1999.
