BUTTE, Mont. (AP) -- Former Montana Western men's basketball coach and athletics director Casey Keltz has died after a long battle with cancer. He was 79. Current Western coach Steve Keller told The Montana Standard that Keltz died early Sunday. He had been sitting at the scorer's bench on Friday night when Western hit a last-second shot to beat Lewis-Clark State 70-68 in the semifinals of the Frontier Conference tournament. In January, Keltz received the Ron "Swede" Kenison Memorial Award to honor his contributions to the conference. Keltz retired in 1996 with 409 career wins in 28 years.

Marcille B. Rieker, 97, Jamestown, ND, died Friday, March 2, 2012 at Ave Maria Village in Jamestown. Marcille B. McDonough was born November 13, 1914 at Marrietta, Minnesota, the daughter of Peter and Addie (Yetter) McDonough. They moved to Tappen, ND, where she attended school and graduated in 1932. She spent two years in California and returned to Tappen, where she married Ernest Rieker. She was a full time homemaker and joined the work force after her children were grown. She retired from the North Dakota State Hospital.

Patrick Fitzgerald Daly, 42, of West Fargo, ND, died Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at his home. Patrick was born April 4, 1969, in Jamestown, ND, the son of John and Lila (Burkhardt) Daly. He attended St. John's Academy in Jamestown and graduated from Jamestown High School. Pat graduated from Moorhead State University and since then has worked in the restaurant industry. He was employed at Ground Round in Fargo, ND for nearly 20 years, working his way up to Assistant General Manager. He was currently employed as General Manager of Ruby Tuesday's in West Fargo.
Viola I. Messerall, 101, Jamestown, ND, died Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center. Viola Irene Vernoy was born August 25, 1910 in Cameron, Missouri, the daughter of Roy and Cora (King) Vernoy. She lived there until 1946 then moved to California, then in 2006 she moved to North Dakota where her home has been since. Viola enjoyed gardening, knitting and baking. Viola is survived by three children, Eldon Jewell, St. Cloud, MN, Viola K.
