Norma Jo Rasmussen was born August 30, 1935, in Olympia, WA, to Norman and Wilma (Claughton) Rasmussen. In 1955, she graduated from South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard, WA. On January 19, 1957, in Bremerton, WA, she married Ralph L. Fiechtner of Lehr, ND. He was in the Army in Fort Lewis, WA. They made their home on a farm near Lehr, ND. Together they had four children. In 1974, she moved to Fargo, ND.

David "Fuzzy" Kutz, age 59, of Sykeston, ND, passed on to his heavenly home, surrounded by his loving family, early on Sunday morning, May 22, 2011. He died as a result of injuries he received in an accident while driving a truck. David Lee Kutz was born on September 11, 1951, the youngest child of Ted and Myrtle (Cope) Kutz. He grew up and was educated in Sykeston, ND. David lived and worked in Lake Tahoe, CA, for a short period of time, returning home to ND, the home that he loved. He drove an 18 wheeler nation wide, working for various trucking firms.
Shirley Bjorland, 82, Jamestown, died Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown. Shirley Jean Peerboom was born May 6, 1929, on the family farm, in Pierce County, near Anamoose, N.D., the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Rudnick) Peerboom. She was raised in McHenry County near Anamoose and attended school in Anamoose, graduating from Anamoose High School in 1947. She attended Fargo Business College, Fargo, N.D., from 1947 to 1948. She worked for Red Owl Stores and the Secretary Shop, both in Fargo, and later for Northrup-King in Moorhead, Minn.
Roger Moser, 81, Medina, N.D., died Monday, May 30, 2011, at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown. Mr. Moser was born Sept. 20, 1929, south of Medina, the son of Peter and Rachel (Opp) Moser. He grew up and attended school in Medina, graduating from Medina High School in 1948. He entered the U.S. Army on Oct. 2, 1951, and served in Korea. He was honorably discharged Sept. 22, 1953, and returned to North Dakota. He married Darlene Fauth in April 1954. They lived in Jamestown for several years, before moving back to Medina in 1957. He worked for Medina Farmers Union from 1957 to 1973.
Barry Martin Bjornson, 67, Las Vegas, Nev., died Monday, April 25, 2011, at a Las Vegas hospital. Mr. Bjornson was born July 9, 1944, in Valley City, N.D., the son of Paul and Darline (Berry) Bjornson. He graduated from Valley City Teachers College. He worked as a fifth grade teacher. He also owned a Phillips 66 station for 12 years in Valley City. He retired this year after 30 years in commercial real estate. He was a member of the National Guard.
Jerry Page, 77, Dickinson, N.D., formerly of Carrington, N.D., died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011, at St. Benedicts Health Center, Dickinson. Mr. Page was born Nov. 21, 1933, in Carrington, the son of Hosea Page and Minnie (Minnkle) Page. He attended school in Carrington. He took care of the family farm and drove truck for Teddy Clark, hauling livestock and freight. He married Arlene Louise Bata on Nov. 25, 1953, in Kensal, N.D. The lived in Carrington. He worked for a John Deere dealer and later transferred to another dealer in Belfield, N.D., until 1968. He managed Jerry's Place in Belfield.
Frieda Schmierer, 99, Jamestown, died Saturday, May 28, 2011, at Ave Maria Nursing Home, Jamestown. Frieda Horn was born May 15, 1912, at Robinson, N.D., the daughter of Karl Horn and Maria (Needens) Horn. She received her elementary education in the Robinson area and helped on the family farm. She married Gust Schmierer on Oct. 15, 1932, at Jamestown. They lived on a farm eight miles northeast of Gackle, N.D., before retiring. They moved to Gackle in 1963. They moved to Jamestown in 1984. He died in 1988. She continued to reside in Jamestown. She entered Ave Maria on Nov. 1, 2007.
