Donald R. Lipetzky, 82, Moorhead, Minn., formerly of Kensal, N.D., died Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at his home. Mr. Lipetzky was born July 29, 1928, on the family farm near Kensal, the son of John and Mary (Foy) Lipetzky. He attended school near Kensal. He married Arlean Jorgenson on Nov. 23, 1953, at St. John's Catholic Church, Kensal. They lived and farmed north of Kensal. They spent many winters in Arizona. They moved to Moorhead in 2007. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church.
Lorraine Wolff, 87, Salina, Kan., formerly of Cleveland, N.D., died Monday, March 7, 2011, at Holiday Resort, Salina. Lorraine Edna Wohl was born June 4, 1923, at rural Cleveland, the daughter of Peter and Magdalena (Steiger) Wohl. She grew up on a farm in rural Cleveland. She worked as a surgical nurse outside of the home for many years. She married Albert L. Wolff on July 31, 1945, in Minnesota. They lived in California, Washington and Arizona. They retired in 1986. They moved to Abilene, Kan.
Ethelwyn Tinker, 93, Jamestown, died Sunday, April 3, 2011, at Eventide at Hi-Acres, Jamestown. Ethelwyn Bender was born Nov. 4, 1917, in Bradley, S.D., the daughter of Charles and Ada (Morgan) Bender. She attended school in Bradley. She moved to Mitchell, S.D. and attended business college there. She married Charles "Charlie" Tinker on Feb. 6, 1938, in Mitchell. They moved to Sheridan, Wyo., Livingston, Mont., Bozeman, Mont., Yakima, Wash., and then to Jamestown. She was employed at the North Dakota State Hospital Adolescent Unit, Jamestown, and retired in 1982.

Irene K. Jensen, 93, died at the Fairfax Retirement Community in Ft. Belvoir, Virginia on March 31, 2011; resident of Washington D.C. since 1941. Irene Kathryn (over ten pounds) was born on June 7, 1917 on a farm near James-town, North Dakota, with her Grandma Lee as the midwife. Her mother, age 80 at the time, wrote the following in 1970: "Volumes have been written about what the farmers have gone through, from hail, drought, grasshoppers to blight, smut and what not and we went through all of them. How people existed is a marvel.

Barbara Swensen, 77, Rogers, N.D., died Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at Mercy Hospital, Valley City, N.D. Barbara LeDoux was born Oct. 15, 1933, in Valley City, the daughter of Maynard and Grace (Gervino) LeDoux. She moved to Deerwood, Minn., and attended a country school for eight years and four years of high school in Brainerd, Minn. She returned to Valley City and worked as a nurse's assistant at Mercy Hospital for many years. She married Lyle Sather Sr. in 1954. She later married Donald Swensen. They moved to Rogers. They moved to Leal, N.D., in 1972.
