Lawrence (Larry) J. Volk, 59, died in Los Angeles, California on July 20th, 2010. Memorial was held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bismarck, ND, and burial at St. Mary's Cemetery. Larry went to Jamestown High School and graduated from NDSU in Fargo, ND. After graduation, Volk was invited to attend the American School of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles.
Matilda "Tillie" Remboldt, 96, Jamestown, died Monday, Oct. 4, 2010, at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown. Matilda Hehn was born on May 5, 1914, near Gackle, N.D., the daughter of Carl Hehn and Karolina (Haas) Remboldt. She moved with her parents in 1916 to Jordon, Mont. They later moved back to the Gackle area. She attended elementary school and helped on the family farm. She married Arthur J. Remboldt on Oct. 29, 1932, at the country Seventh-day Adventist Church, northeast of Gackle. They lived on a farm northeast of Gackle, where they farmed until 1980.

Alice Ulrickson, 90, Jamestown, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, at Eventide at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Center, Jamestown. Alice Esther Hochhalter was born Feb. 16, 1920, in Goldwin, N.D., the daughter of Fred and Emma (Moser) Hochhalter. She moved with her family to Cleveland, N.D. In 1926, they moved to Woodworth, N.D., where she attended school. She married Willmar J. Ulrickson on Aug. 2l, 1939, in Jamestown. They lived in Oberon, N.D., and in 1942, moved to Flasher, N.D. From 1943 to 1946, they lived in Dawson, N.D.

Tony Curtis shaped himself from a 1950s movie heartthrob into a respected actor, showing a determined streak that served him well in such films as "Sweet Smell of Success," "The Defiant Ones" and "Some Like It Hot." The Oscar-nominated actor died Wednesday evening of cardiac arrest at home in the Las Vegas-area city of Henderson, Clark County Coroner Mike Murphy said Thursday. He was 85.
