NEW YORK (AP) -- Frank Chirkinian, the longtime golf producer for CBS who helped turn the Masters into one of the most watched events in sports television, has died. He was 84. Chirkinian died Friday at his home in North Palm Beach, Fla., after a long bout with lung cancer, his son told The Associated Press. He was surrounded by friends and family. The television pioneer was elected to the World Golf Hall of Fame just last month, during an emergency vote after it became widely known he was undergoing treatment for cancer. He will be inducted posthumously on May 9 in St.

Delores Wendel, 82, Valley City, N.D., died Friday, March 4, 2011, at Sanford Health, Fargo, N.D. Delores Fern Fischer was born Aug. 28, 1928, in Gackle, N.D., the daughter of Reinhold and Lydia (Schmidt) Fischer. She grew up and attended school in the Gackle area and graduated from Gackle High School in 1946. She then attended Valley City State Teachers College where she received her teaching certificate. She taught for two years at Lakeside Rural School, Sanborn, N.D. She married Henry Wendel on Oct. 1, 1947, in Sanborn.

Louella Oglesby, 89, Enderlin, N.D., formerly of Valley City, N.D., died Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at Lisbon Area Health Service, Lisbon, ND. Louella Mae Boese was born Feb. 22, 1922, on the family farm, at Manfred, N.D., the daughter of Louis W. and Ella (Mennegar) Boese. She grew up and attended school in the Manfred area and graduated from Fessenden (N.D.) High School. She married Victor Harrison on Oct. 7, 1942. They lived in the Wimbledon, N.D., area and moved to Valley City in 1973. He died Sept. 30, 1973. She married Douglas Oglesby in Valley City in 1975.
Mary Hafner, 85, Sykeston, N.D., died Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at Golden Acres Manor Care Center, Carrington, N.D. Mary Jane Lukenbach was born March 15, 1925, at Tuttle, N.D., the daughter of Harry W. and Mabel (Thorne) Lukenbach. She attended country school at Tuttle. The family moved to the Hurdsfield, N.D., area in 1935. She married John Hafner on Nov. 8, 1941, at Sykeston. They lived on farms near Chaseley, N.D. and Dover, N.D. They moved to Sykeston in the late 1960s until entering Golden Acres Manor in 2008. He died Nov. 17, 2010. She was a member of St.
Mark Steven Wagner, 52, of San Mateo, CA, formerly Jamestown, ND, died Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at San Mateo, CA of an apparent heart attack. Mark Steven Wagner was born February 16, 1959, at Trinity Hospital, James-town, ND, the son of Jay W. and Beverly J. (Klose) Wagner. He was baptized and confirmed in St. James Catholic Church. Mark attended St. John's Academy grades 1 thru 6 and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1977 where he played football and was head of the student council.
