Rose Mary De Lair, 78, formerly of Fried, N.D., died Nov. 10, 2009. Rose Mary De Lair was born July 15, 1931. She married Francis De Lair in Montpelier, N.D. She was a homemaker. She is survived by three sons, Jerry, Joe and Ed Cooney; three daughters, Diane Cooney, Julie De Lair and Peggy De Lair; four sisters, Rita De Lair, Alice Cumber, Ceil Malinski and Josey Stampka; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Dana Lawrence, 91, Jamestown, died Thursday, Nov. 26, 2009, at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown. Mr. Lawrence was born March 31, 1918, in James-town. He attended school in Eldridge, N.D., graduating from Eldridge High School. He attended North Dakota State School of Science, Wahpeton, N.D., for two years for the mechanic trade. He married Opal Hooge on Oct. 4, 1941, in Wahpeton. They moved to Jamestown where he was employed as a mechanic at R.M. Stoudt. He entered the U.S. Army-Air Force in October 1942 serving until November 1945. He returned to Jamestown and worked at R.M.
Esther Mueller, 97, Wishek, N.D., died Friday, Nov. 27, 2009, at Wishek Home for the Aged, Wishek. Esther Fink was born Feb. 23, 1912, in Logan County near Wishek, the daughter of Philip and Mathilda (Leischner) Fink. She grew up and attended rural school near Wishek. She married Edwin Mueller on Sept. 29, 1931, on the Mueller farm near Wishek. They farmed in the Wishek area until 1953 when they moved to Bismarck, N.D. In 1954, they returned to the Mueller farm, which they operated until 1963 when they moved into Wishek. She worked as a cook at Wishek Community Hospital until she retired.
NEW YORK (AP) -- CBS News producer Bernard Birnbaum, who helped shape the public's view of issues ranging from poverty to the Watergate scandal while working alongside Walter Cronkite and Charles Kuralt, has died. He was 89. Birnbaum died on Thanksgiving Day at Stony Brook University Medical Center in Stony Brook, N.Y., after having a heart attack. while visiting relatives nearby, CBS News said in a statement Saturday.
Angela Brennan, 90, Montpelier, N.D., died Friday, Nov. 27, 2009, at James-town Hospital, Jamestown. Angela Juanita Stott was born Oct. 23, 1919, at Montpelier, N.D., the daughter of Frank and Mary (Scheneker) Stott. She at-tended Montpelier schools and graduated from Montpelier High School in 1937. She married James "Jay" Murray in 1940. He died in 1949. She married James Connery in 1952 at Montpelier. He died in 1959. She married Don Brennan in 1966 at Montpelier. She attended North Dakota State University, Fargo, in 1973 and received a degree in geneology. She was a member of St.
Robert Paul Tollefson, 33, Portland, Ore., died Nov. 24, 2009, in Portland. Mr. Tollefson was born Oct. 2, 1976, in Mandan, N.D., the son of Larry and Cathy Tollefson. He worked as a scenic designer in theater. He is survived by his parents, Mandan; a sister, Bethany (Rob) Hillenbrand, Minneapolis, Minn.; and his grandparents, W.J. and A. Dorothy Lauber, Jamestown. Services: planned in Mandan, at a later date.
Frances M. Reid, 87, Hastings, Minnesota, formerly of Jamestown, North Dakota died Thursday, November 26, 2009 at Augustana Health Care Center, Hastings, Minnesota. Frances M. Weight was born November 8, 1922 in Marion, North Dakota to Jacob and Mary (Wuttke) Weight. She attended Marion area schools and graduated from Marion High School. Franny worked in the Fargo and LaMoure area for several years before moving to Seattle, WA, in 1946. There she met her future husband, Donald G. (Scotty) Reid. They were married on October 2, 1946 and in 1949 moved back to North Dakota, settling in Jamestown.
