The Stutsman County Ag Update will be an opportunity to learn about agronomy and livestock production topics. The meeting will take place on Feb. 20 at the Stutsman County Extension office (502 10th Ave. SE, Jamestown). Lunch will be served at noon with the meeting to follow from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Lunch is sponsored by the North Dakota Soybean Council. Topics for the meeting include:
- Greg Endres, agronomist at Carrington Research Extension Center, will present about the NDSU Extension soybean stem disease project. In 2017 and 2018, NDSU Extension surveyed soybean fields across the state to determine which soybean stem diseases are most prevalent in North Dakota.
Karl Hoppe, livestock specialist from Carrington Research Extension Center, will present about stretching hay supplies for feeding livestock this winter.
Bryon Parman, NDSU Extension agriculture finance specialist, will present 2020 farm financial outlook and opportunities for 2020.
Alicia Harstad, Stutsman County Extension agent, will present about selecting cover crops for managing excessive moisture.
The Dry Pea and Lentil Council County representative election will take place at the beginning of the meeting. Any dry pea, lentil, lupin, fava bean and/or chickpea grower in Stutsman Council is welcome to participate in the election.
