Farmers Union Enterprises, working with North Dakota Farmers Union, made a donation of 30,000 pounds of pork ribs to the Great Plains Food Bank in Fargo this week. The donation completes a five-state donation of 150,000 pounds of pork to food banks in South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Montana and North Dakota.
“Food banks are doing all they can to meet the increased demand for food given COVID-19 and high unemployment,” said NDFU President Mark Watne. “This donation is one way we can help feed hungry families.”
Farmers Union Enterprises is made up of several businesses that are owned by Farmers Union. The pork ribs were produced by Redwood Farms, which supplies premium pork products to high-end restaurants in New York, Chicago and other cities across the United States.
