Lisa Jaspers, a registered nurse in the birthing center at Essentia Health-Fargo, has been awarded the prestigious Rowe Preceptor Award.
Jaspers was nominated by recent Concordia College graduate and Essentia Health RN Mindy Schwartz. Schwartz wrote in her nomination: “My preceptor personally helped me transition from student to new professional nurse by providing me with a positive role model to follow and emulate. Lisa showed me how to interact within the interdisciplinary team and how she personally advocates for the patient as a nurse. Lisa truly exemplifies the belief statements of Essentia Health. Her patients always come first.”
The Rowe Preceptor Award was established by Jamestown family practice physician Dr. Scott Rowe and his wife, Kathy. When Dr. Scott Rowe retired, he shared his passion for medicine by mentoring students and started an endowment through the Essentia Health-Fargo Foundation to provide a scholarship award for mentors or preceptors who go above and beyond.
