Lloyd Veil, the water commissioner for the city of Streeter, North Dakota, recently received the Operator of the Year Award in recognition of outstanding water and wastewater treatment facility management. The North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality presented the award to Veil during the joint meeting on Oct. 12-14 in Fargo of the North Dakota Water and Pollution Control Conference, the North Dakota Chapter of the American Public Works Association, the North Dakota Water Environment Association, the North Dakota Section of the American Water Works Association, the North Dakota Chapter of North American Stormwater and Erosion Control Association.
Veil has been an active part of Streeter for many years. He has served on the City Council since 1974. He became water commissioner for Streeter in 2000. He has continued to run his full-time business, Streeter Paint & Carpet.
