MINOT, N.D. (AP) -- The high demand for certain construction materials in western North Dakota is making it difficult for contractors to get supplies.
Builders tell the Minot Daily News that the shortage could delay home construction and increase housing costs.
Minot developer John Coughlin says a shortage exists in construction materials such as gravel, cement, recycled asphalt and riprap.
Contractors say the tight supply has been caused by housing needs in oil patch and the reconstruction of homes following this year's record flooding.
