Correctional Officer Emmanuel Gartei was chosen employee of the month of March for the James River Correctional Center, JRCC announced.
Gartei helps deescalate situations and helps direct people on the right path when they choose to deviate from it, his supervisors said. When staff are new to the unit, he teaches them procedures along with information that helps them grow in their career. He also works to grow his skills, they said.
Gartei was chosen for the award for his professionalism and dedication to the James River Correctional Center.
