JAMESTOWN – The newest episode of the "Discover Jamestown" vlog released on March 17 focuses on the Jamestown Kite Festival, also known as KiteFest, in Jamestown.
The Jamestown Kite Festival has become a premier kiting event in the Midwest, attracting kite enthusiasts from across the country and Canada. The annual three-day event takes place every June. The festival is Jamestown Parks and Recreation's largest event and is conducted by Wings on Strings Kite Club.
Episode four follows Warren Abrahamson and Tamela Abrahamson as they seek out Meidinger Park, the location of the annual festival. There, they meet with Wings on Strings Kite Club co-founder Mike Gee, who helps them put up a guide kite. Then they get to experience how much work it takes to get up one of the biggest kites that Gee owns.
