Five elected to North Dakota Farm Bureau Board

Monango and Ellendale residents among those to serve in positions.

Five individuals were elected and two others were reelected to their positions on the NDFB Board of Directors during the 78th NDFB annual meeting on Nov. 20 at the Ramkota in Bismarck.

The NDFB Board of Directors is comprised of the president, elected at large, and individuals elected from each of the nine NDFB districts, the Promotion and Education Committee chair and the Young Farmer and Rancher Committee chair.

Weston Dvorak was reelected to a three-year term representing District 9. Dvorak operates a fourth-generation farm.

District 7 Director Lucas Lang was reelected to serve another three-year term. Lang raises barley, oats and flax and also has a farrow to fork hog opperation.

Val Wagner was elected to a three-year term representing District 3 on the board. Wagner has served on the NDFB and American Farm Bureau Federation Young Farmer and Rancher Committees and the Promotion and Education Committees. Wagner and her husband, Mark, farm and ranch near Monango, N.D., and have four children.

Jason Skaar was elected to serve out the remaining year of a three-year term of former District 4 representative Trisa Kingstone. Skaar and his wife, Danielle, have four children and farm in northern Ramsey County where they primarily grow wheat, canola and soybeans.

Tim Schoenhard was elected to serve out the remaining two years of a three-year term for former District 5 representative Jon Leadbetter. Schoenhard and his wife, Kaylene, have two children and run a cow calf operation and raise registered quarter horses.

Sarah Lovas was elected as the Promotion and Education Committee chairman. The committee chairman holds a two-year term on the NDFB Board of Directors. Lovas and her husband, Jason, have one child and farm near Hillsboro raising wheat, corn and soybeans. Lovas is also an independent crop consultant.

Elected as Young Farmer and Rancher Committee chairman is Dahltin Pahl of Ellendale. The chair of the YF&R Committee holds a position on the NDFB Board of Directors. Pahl farms with his family raising wheat, soybeans and corn near Ellendale.

Other NDFB directors are President Daryl Lies of Douglas, District 1 Director Craig Vaughn of Cavalier, District 2 Director and NDFB Vice President Dana Kaldor, District 6 Director Nathan Fegley of Berthold, and Kirk Olson of Arnegard representing District 8.
