ND medical marijuana deadline extended after snafu

BISMARCK—A mixup has prompted the North Dakota Department of Health to extend the application deadline for those seeking to become registered medical marijuana manufacturers.

The department extended the deadline for grower applicants to 10 a.m. Monday, April 23. It had received 17 applications by the previous deadline of Thursday afternoon, April 19, but accidentally used "Central Standard Time" instead of "Central Daylight Time" in its application instructions.

Jason Wahl, the medical marijuana division director, said "There was confusion regarding the exact time deadline that applications needed to be submitted by."

Central Standard Time is one hour behind Central Daylight Time.
