Anders Cole, owner, of Home Design Center and Valley Flooring, said Home Design Center can help people with a project from conception through completion.

“We do mainly remodels on kitchens and bathrooms,” he said. But they can help with many different types of projects, he said.

Open concepts for kitchens remain popular, he said. Many older homes are more closed off with walls, and the business removes walls to make larger living spaces. Home Design Center provides many services related to opening homes up, he said.

Home Design Center helps with decor, picking out paint colors, trims and finishes on cabinets, doors and hardware, he said.

“We also build and do custom stains and finishes in our cabinet shop if we need to match anything,” Cole said.

Tile and glass showers are the primary bathroom projects along with high-end finishes, he said.

There are numerous other types of projects that Home Design Center can help with, such as improving the functionality of spaces for handicapped accessibility or helping make commercial kitchens more functional for flow and ease of usability.

“We’ve helped integrate home theater systems,” Cole added, “... just anything the customer has an idea on we help try and figure out and make it a reality for them.”

Home Design Center on First Avenue in Jamestown is the main showroom. Valley Flooring has two locations, one in Valley City, and one in Jamestown that opened in 2020.

“We carry a large assortment of in-stock flooring in our Valley Flooring store and then we can also special order anything, and we do anything from residential to commercial,” Cole said.

Store hours at Home Design Center and Valley Flooring in Valley City are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Valley Flooring in Jamestown is open from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. They are also available by appointment on weekends and after hours, Cole said.
