LaMoure and Berlin farmers earned state awards in the National Corn Yield Contest.
Berlin farmers Steve Huber and Bruce Huber earned first-place state awards in the 2022 National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) National Corn Yield Contest.
Steve Huber yielded 299.5 bushels per acre with DEKALB DKC44-98RIB brand blend corn in the
E:Strip-Till, Minimum-Till, Mulch-Till, Ridge-Till Non-Irrigated Class. Bruce Huber achieved a yield of
299.8 bushels per acre with DKC45-66RIB brand blend corn in the A: Conventional Non-Irrigated
Class.
Cody Frauenberg of LaMoure placed first in the state in the G: No-Till Irrigated Class with a
yield of 289.1263 bushels per acre. The hybrid used in the winning field was DEKALB DKC47-27RIB.
James Frauenberg of LaMoure placed first in the state in the H: Strip-Till, Minimum-Till, Mulch-
Till, Ridge-Till Irrigated Class with a yield of 291.6550 bushels per acre. The hybrid used in the winning field was DEKALB DKC47-27RIB.

Bobby Frauenberg LaMoure placed second in the state in the I: Conventional Irrigated Class
with a yield of 282.3039 bushels per acre. The hybrid used in the winning field was DEKALB DKC39-55RIB.
The 2022 contest participation included 6,337 entries from 46 states. Of the state winners, 27 growers – three from each of nine classes – were named national winners, representing 12 states.
