BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) -- A new agency is designed to help North Dakota companies sell goods to the Pentagon.
It's called a Procurement Technical Assistance Center, or PTAC (Pee-Tack) for short. North Dakota and Arizona have been the only states without a center, but North Dakota's center was approved earlier this month.
The Dakota Defense Alliance has been pushing to establish the North Dakota center.
Alliance director Kristin Hedger says the center will help match the military's needs with North Dakota companies that can supply them.
Hedger says bidding on government contracts can be complex, and she says the center will help interested businesses navigate the process.

States and the federal Defense Logistics Agency finance the centers. North Dakota's center will have offices in Fargo and Bismarck. It will start operating in January.
