Plantation Coffee Bar will reopen with new owners on Thursday, March 1, in Jamestown.
Bryan Stromberg, owner of the Pizza Ranch locations in Jamestown and Carrington, said he and his wife, Cally, were looking to open another business in Jamestown.
“We decided to buy it and keep the name because people (in Jamestown) are big fans of the name,” he said.
Stromberg said he is originally from Wadena, Minn., but has lived in Jamestown for 13 years. He said his wife is from Carrington. He said they won’t be making any big changes to Plantation Coffee Bar, located on Business Loop West, next to the Taco Bell.

Plantation Coffee Bar originally opened in June 2013 under co-owners Scott Moore and Jackie Jenkins. On Jan. 16, 2016, Moore and Jenkins announced the business would be closing. The coffee shop space has sat unused until the Strombergs purchased the business toward the end of 2017.
Stromberg said they will source some different coffee, but the menu of coffee drinks will remain pretty much the same. He said based on social media posts he and his wife have seen, people in Jamestown are excited about the coffee shop reopening.
“We were nervous about bringing the shop back, wondering if we did the right thing,” he said. “But the response from the community has been unreal.”
Stromberg said community members said they are very excited that Plantation’s drivethru service is coming back as well. He said no other coffee shop in Jamestown has a drivethru.
Stromberg said Cally will oversee the business with Alyssa Lee, who will be the shop’s manager. Lee has worked for Stromberg for about five years as the manager of his Jamestown Pizza Ranch location.
Plantation Coffee Bar will be open 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. For more information, go to http://bit.ly/2ot70rl .
