TJ Maxx issued Jamestown building permit
A new retail store is headed to the Buffalo Mall, according to public records released by the Jamestown building inspector’s office.
Officials issued a building permit this week for TJ Maxx to remodel the space previously occupied by JCPenney into a new retail outlet.
The JCPenney store closed in 2017. The space has been vacant since, although rumors of TJ Maxx coming to Jamestown have been widely circulated in recent months.
Tom Blackmore, city building inspector, said the $1.5 million project includes remodeling about 20,000 square feet of retail space and the east entrance to the space from the parking lot.
