Work on the Super Storage facility at the Super 8 in Jamestown was completed Friday, as the programming for the security locks was finished.
"Guys are working on that gate, and that'll be the last thing -- and it'll be up and going," said Kal Patel, owner of the Super 8 and Super Storage.
The 101 secure rental units feature 24-hour digital video surveillance, 24-hour access and an on-site help desk.
Some of the units are small, at just five feet square, but there are also some 14- by 40-foot units for recreational vehicles or boats. Monthly and annual leases are available. Thirty of the units will be lit.
The storage units are the first phase of project that may turn out to have three separate stages.

Its second phase, the building of the 20-unit Bison Inn in the same area, may begin as early as next week, Patel said.
"There's a lot of demand. Right now it's tough to find rooms in town," Patel said. "Everybody's booked, I know that, and we have been through record revenues for these last four or five months."
Initial plans had been for the Bison Inn to be a bare-bones hotel with room entrances to the outdoors, but the project evolved beyond that.
"They'll all be interior corridors, all (rooms will be) accessible from inside, and we'll make it nicer than what the plan was," Patel said. "The rooms will be for regular people, and anybody can afford the rooms."
Each one will have two queen-sized beds, a regular bathroom with a shower, 24-hour WiFi, a work desk and a 32-inch flat screen television.
Truck drivers will still be the target guests, because the Bison Inn will have plenty of room for truck parking, but at the same time, Patel expects families at the hotel too.
The Bison Inn will employ five to 10 part- and full-time workers, including people to work at the front desk, housekeepers and maintenance people.
The second phase of the project should be completed in January or February. Should the Bison Inn do well, Patel may add another 30 rooms to it -- a potential third phase of the project.
