Beginning Monday, May 11, the Jamestown office of the Department of Motor Vehicle will be open by appointment and offer a dropbox at its location at the Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce at 120 2nd Ave. SE.
The DMV has processed registrations and licenses only by mail since March as a precaution to help slow the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. People are encouraged to continue to process licenses and registration by mail, including a $4 processing fee, as a safety precaution. Paperwork can be mailed to Jamestown Motor Vehicle, PO Box 1530, Jamestown, ND 58402. Addressed envelopes are available outside the office door.
Completed forms and payment can be dropped off between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., excluding the noon hour, Monday through Friday. The processed paperwork will be available for pickup the next day between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Paperwork can also be mailed to the vehicle owner if that is specified.
Appointments for titling activities, truck weight changes and large trucks when form 2290 is required are available. To schedule an appointment, call 952-0852.
