The 59th annual Buffalo Supper in Streeter served 1,380 meals, including 278 takeout meals on Friday, Oct. 26. Visitors and local enthusiasts gathered at the Streeter Hall for the homemade meal served family style.

The planning committee was represented by the Streeter Lions, Streeter American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary, with Glenna Spitzer serving her 30th as the general chair. Each year the planning committee depends on more than 200 volunteers from the community, former residents and relatives of Streeter families and friends to assist with the preparation, serving and cleanup.

Along with the preparation of about 40 roasters of buffalo meat (1,400 pounds of buffalo meat) gallons of homemade vegetable soup were made. There were 900 pounds of potatoes peeled and mashed, along with gravy, cranberry relish, marinated onions, coleslaw and pumpkin bars with cream cheese frosting.

The 60th annual Buffalo Supper is planned for Oct. 25, 2019.
