The 13th annual Sweet N’ Stickey in Dickey Rib Cook-off will be held outside of the Dickey Bar on Saturday, July 9. All proceeds will be given to Hospice of the Red River Valley in memory of loved ones who have passed away, most of whom have received hospice care in the community.
Starting at 6 p.m., ribs will be served to the public. Attendees are encouraged to give a freewill donation for a meal.
The band TrainWrecks will be playing from 6 to 10 p.m. with awards for the cook-off being presented around 8 p.m.
For a $20 entry fee, interested individuals can enter their recipe in the rib cook-off contest. Cooks must provide their own ribs, cooking devices and all other cooking needs. The registration fee includes a Sweet N' Stickey T-shirt or tank top and serving pans to turn in your finished product to both the People's Choice and Judge's Choice. For those entering the cook-off:
- Ribs will need to be cooked, cut and ready to present to judges at or before 5 p.m.
- Participants must provide their own ribs (two or more racks of pork ribs, any cut except baby backs).
- Entrants will need to provide their own ribs, grill/smoker, utensils and cooking items.
- Event organizers will provide electricity (if needed), judging baskets and serving trays.
