A Beef Fitting Clinic was held June 17 at the Stutsman County Fairgrounds in Jamestown. The clinic featured Britney Creamer of Montrose, Colo., an area sales manager for VitaFerm and a nationally-known Angus breeder and showperson. Creamer presented a clinic that focused on daily care, feeding, fitting and showing cattle to more than 35 area 4-H youth and adults.
More than 10 beef cattle were brought in by area 4-H members so they could work hands on with how to best fit their animal for the show ring. Creamer reviewed all aspects and shared her knowledge on how to trim, clip and brush the animals to present them at their best.
This event was sponsored by VitaFerm - an animal feed company from St. Joseph, Mo., Dorothy Orts, the area sales manager from Oriska, N.D., and Lacey Schneider, a dealer from Woodworth.
The Stutsman County 4-H Livestock Committee provided lunch. Jodi Koenig of Bordulac and Trevor Wendel of LaMoure were the 4-H leaders who organized the event.
