AmeriCorps grant received in Jamestown, Cooperstown

Jamestown Parks and Recreation Department received a $29,368 grant for the Healthy Connection's Park Program, while Cooperstown Community Activities received a $32,446 grant for Cooperstown AmeriCorps to support current members and to assist in funding future projects.

Jamestown's AmeriCorps program currently has 10 members, while Cooperstown's has eight.

The funding was awarded by the state of North Dakota from the Corporation for National and Community Services. Two other AmericCorps organizations received grants throughout the state for an additional $356,518.

The North Dakota Department of Commerce said the 2019 grants are for investments, education, veterans and their families and disaster services.
