Barnes County North High School hosted a blood drive with Vitalant on Nov. 7 at at the school which collected 29 units of blood products for
patients in need.
A total of 29 individuals volunteered to donate blood, and 24 individuals were able to successfully donate. Two donors gave Power Red Cells, where two units of red blood cells are collected while returning platelets, plasma and a saline solution to the donor. Five people
volunteered for the first time.
Vitalant expressed its gratitude to John Samuelson, who coordinated the drive, the student council which sponsored the blood drive, Barnes County North High School for providing the location and those who assisted the day of the drive: Rylee Kramlich, Ashley Weiss, Jayden Samek, Keira Hansen, Connor Bjorland, James Jewett, Jake Greinz, Ryann Guscette, Allison Bryn, Izabella Haugen, Desire McGough, Anna Roemmich, Mylee Christianson, Jonah Harstad, Oliver Hanson, and Will
