Artist in residency artists from around North Dakota have worked with elementary students from Barnes County North elementary students since last fall.

In October, Morgan Wagner from Watford City worked with BCN first and second graders, teaching them about the different types of lines. The students drew some of their favorite things.

In January, Matt Maldonado and Eric Thoemke of The Film Dudes - ND Strong in Minot worked with fifth and sixth graders. The students learned about storyboards, and how to edit and create movies through still pictures using iMovie. The fifth and sixth graders are going to finish through Zoom after the weather interfered the schedule.

BCN is now hosting artist Linda Roesch from Jamestown working with third and fourth graders, who are learning about Picasso and Joan Miro. The students are also working with watercolor pencils and oil pastels learning about one-point perspective drawings and will design a Lego mini-figure.
