The Corey Bayer family donated $1,000 to the Washington Elementary PTO playground project in memory of Dale Bayer on Friday, Oct. 7.
Dale Bayer (1934-2012) started his career at Jamestown Public Schools in 1964. Over the course of his service, he was principal for several decades at Washington Elementary School in addition to serving as principal at Franklin Elementary and Lincoln Elementary schools. He retired in 1995.
Corey Bayer, his wife, Jodi, and their children Carson and Isaac presented the check to the Washington Elementary PTO. PTO members Cassie DuBray, Katrina Christiansen and teacher Brenda Jensen said they were grateful to receive the donation.
Washinton Elementary PTO is working to raise funds to remove and replace the remaining structure with one that will accommodate all of the students, is safe, full of fun for all users, and will meet the requirements for the school district. The estimated cost for the playground project is $90,000. The new equipment will include several platforms, slides, bridges, poles, and climbing structures.
Upcoming October fundraisers include the Soup’er Fundraiser and a Good Network Facebook Fundraiser https://www.facebook.com/donate/331119875892215/ .
