MINOT - The North Dakota Board of Higher Education approved a $175,000 contract today for the North Dakota State University interim president.
The contract for Dick Hanson includes $157,500 in salary and about $17,500 in retirement contributions.
Chancellor Bill Goetz initially proposed a $175,000 salary for the seven-month appointment, plus an additional retirement plan.
However, several board members indicated they agreed on a $175,000 contract at their last meeting and they were reluctant to support more.
Hanson will not receive health insurance or other allowances. He begins Dec. 1.
