The Jewels of the Prairie will meet at 10 a.m. Oct. 11 at Ave Maria Village for coffee and rolls. Tim Burchill will share about the early Jewish settlements in North Dakota after leaving their home countries. He will talk of the hardships they endured and their contributions in the development of North Dakota.

The Jewels met at Doorways to ..., a store located at 208 First Ave. S. in Jamestown. After a lunch by T. J. Catering, Roger and Char Jung, owners, explained the retail portion of the store which includes books, crystal, jewelry, Himalayan salt lamps, local handmade gifts and much more. They also told about their classes on using crystals and oils for natural healing, soul coaching, reiki and other services. The display window is lighted at night and while they are open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Concerns for Jewels who were hospitalized, homebound or in other unfortunate circumstances were expressed. It was announced that Elaine Burkett would be moving to Illinois. They welcomed new member Betty Anderson. Copies of the Wimbledon newsletter, produced by Mary Beth (Simonsen) Olombel were passed around to see pictures and to read about the visit to that community in August.
