A certified nursing assistant training skills class begins later this month at the James Valley Career and Technology Center.
This 18-hour curriculum is open to anyone 16 years of age or older interested in becoming a CNA. The class teaches the basic hands-on skills needed to challenge that part of the CNA test. Some independent study is required to pass the written portion of the test. All materials needed for study are available.
The next class begins on Oct. 24 and will run from 6 to 9 p.m. and runs Monday, Tuesday and Thursday that week and continue the following week on Oct. 31, Nov. 1 and 3, with testing on Nov. 8. The cost of the class is $100.
Registration and inquiries into the class or scholarship requirements can be made by calling the JVCTC at 252-8841. Ask for Deb Bentz or Wanda Opland.
