James River Humane Society grill-out, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., National Buffalo Museum near Frontier Village. Bratwurst and hamburgers will be sold for $3 and Bavarian almonds will be sold for $4 or $7 per package.

Elvis Tribute Concert featuring "Bruno Big Elvis," 7 p.m., Hannaford Community Center (high school auditorium), Hannaford. Admission: $13.

Steve Reidburn speaks on the history of Fort Seward at the Front Porch Chat, 2 p.m., Stutsman County Memorial Museum, 321 Third Ave. S.E.

A program on the "Norse Sky," 3 p.m., planetarium in room 310 of the Rhoades Science Center on the campus of Valley City State University. The 30-minute program ancient Norse gods Odin, Freya Saga and Loki explain some of the sky stories known to the Vikings. There is no charge for the shows, but donations are welcome.
