Dakota Pro Musica, North Dakota's only professional choir based in Bismarck, is partnering with St. James Basilica in Jamestown to present a special Service of Nine Lessons and Carols on Friday, Dec. 16.
The service that begins at 7 p.m. will include congregational carols, scripture readings, choral anthems and prayers for Advent and Christmas. The service will allow attendees to reflect on the story of the Christian faith as they prepare for the coming of Jesus on Christmas. There will be many familiar carols for the congregation to sing and a number of choral anthems from the medieval era to recent compositions.
Dakota Pro Musica, led by Dr. Jason Thoms, is a 20-voice professional choral ensemble.
