Dakota State Aerie, Auxiliary elect officers

Marty Boyle, Dickinson, was installed as president, Dakota State Aerie, Fraternal Order of Eagles for 2010-2011 at the conclusion of the Dakota State Eagles Convention held June 10-12 in Rugby, N.D.

Melanie Moore, Minot, was installed as president, Dakota State Auxiliary, Fraternal Order of Eagles, for the same ensuing fraternal year.

Other Aerie officers elected were: Kash Kremer, Dickinson, vice president; Kenneth (Andy) Anderson, Vermillion, S.D., chaplain; Ronald Keller, Harvey, N.D., treasurer; Ralph Hilgeman, Jamestown, secretary; James Hilderbrant, Valley City, N.D., conductor; Chuck Blumhardt, Aberdeen, S.D., inside guard; Richard Haas, Valley City, outside guard; and trustees Tom Thrift, Jamestown, Paul Hagenbuch, Vermillion, and Leon Wedar, Minot.

The outgoing state President is Greg Anderson, New Rockford, N.D., who now becomes junior past state president.

Other Auxiliary officers elected were: Mona Peters, Rapid City, S.D., vice president; Kim Kremer, Dickinson, chaplain; Bev Alex, Minot, treasurer; Francis Becker, Bismarck, secretary; Jeralyn Behm, Valley City, conductor; Janet Sinkler, New Rockford, inside guard; Deborah Brown, Bismarck, outside guard; and trustees Deb Roesler, Wahpeton, N.D., Gerri Dooley, Vermillion, and Marcia Blumhardt, Aberdeen.

The outgoing Auxiliary state president is Holly Niemi, Rugby, who now becomes junior past madam state president.

Awards for outstanding local Aerie presidents were presented to Ghislain Thibeault, Valley City, and Greg Anderson, New Rockford; and outstanding local Aerie secretary was presented to Scott Granger, New Rockford.

At the banquet on June 10, the following grants, awards and presentations were made:

Aerie grants: from Golden Age Eagle Fund, $3,000 to Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd, New Rockford, and from Jimmy Durante Children's Fund, $2,500 to Home On The Range for Boys and Girls, Sentinal Butte, N.D.

Auxiliary grants: from Eagle Alzheimer Fund, $4,000 to HAMC Village Alzheimer Unit, and from Jimmy Durante Child Abuse Fund, $4,000 to Rugby Police Department.

Awards: Dakota State Auxiliary Hall of Fame, Francis Fritz, Bismarck, and Dakota State Aerie Hall of Fame, Dan Hilkerbaumer, Fargo.

A Dakota State Eagles scholarships grant for $500 was presented to Brian D. Larson, Valley City, who will attend NDSU.

Other awards presented by the Auxiliary during the business sessions were: Mrs. Eagle of the Year, Sherrie Pletten, Aberdeen, and Mother of the Year, Linda Benson, Minot. Named Dakota State Aerie Father of the Year was Leo Becker, Bismarck.

Grand Aerie/Grand Auxiliary representatives in attendance were: Chuck Lang, grand inside guard, Harvey; Ralph Hilgeman, north central regional president, Jamestown; Creighton Thurman, grand Aerie legal adviser, Vermillion; Bruce Meyer, Minnesota state president; Mike Lagervall, Seattle, Wash., grant worthy president; Sally Villalva, grand madam trustee; JoAnn Burkel, north central regional president; and Joanne Rott, Jamestown, past grand madam president.
