Greg Hager to headline Arts Market
A Valley City performer is a last-minute headline for tonight's Downtown Arts Market at the Hansen Arts Park in Jamestown.
Greg Hager, an internationally touring performer of original western, country, cowboy and gospel songs, will step in for Josh Harty, who cancelled his performance. He will perform at 7 p.m., following the Old Friends band that starts at 5:30 p.m.
"This is going to be a thrill to have Greg come and play," said Myra Olson, Arts Center education coordinator. "He has a strong local following and we are hoping to see all his fans come and listen on Thursday."
The arts activities for children and adults start at 5 p.m., and include tie-dying T-shirts, Olson said. There will also be food, fine art, music and other product vendors, she said.
For the Aug 16 and Aug. 23 Downtown Arts Market the community is invited to bring a strip of fabric or other special item to be part of a collaborative weaving wall, Olson said. There will also be strips of fabric, yarn and ribbons on hand to include with the project that will be displayed in the Arts Center when completed, she said.
Olson is a fiber artist and will give instructions to show people how to do weaving.
"If everyone would bring a special item that they would want to add in that would be great," Olson said.
