Freedom Walk planned Sept. 11

A Patriot Day program and dinner will start at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Zonta Park, near the intersection of First Street East and Fourth Avenue Southeast in Jamestown.

The observance will start with a brief ceremony and a presentation from Trooper Tom Herzig of the North Dakota Highway Patrol followed by a “Freedom Walk” back to the All Vets Club at 116 1st St. E.

The program at the All Vets Club will include a freewill barbecue meal with all proceeds going to support Mary’s Place at Safe Shelter in Jamestown. The program will include a presentation from Lynne Tally, executive director of Mary’s Place.

The event is organized by the Jamestown Patriotic Council and is open to the public. First responders, veterans and families are encouraged to attend.
