Noridian Healthcare Solutions hosted a blood drive with Vitalant on Aug. 28 at Noridian which collected 14 units of blood products for patients in need.

Eleven people volunteered to donate blood and 11 individuals were able to donate. Three donors gave Power Red Cells (2RBC), which are two units of red blood cells. Three people volunteered for the first time.

Vitalant expressed its gratitude to Kayla Moore, who coordinated the drive, and Noridian Healthcare Solutions, which sponsored the blood drive.

Donations from O-negative donors, the universal blood type, are important this time of year due to increased accidents and trauma cases, Vitalant said.
