A send-off party for Miss North Dakota 2019 Haley Wolfe will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Carrington Crossroads Golf Club. The event is open to the public and will showcase her preparation for the Miss America Competition in December at the Mohegan Sun Resort in Connecticut.
Prior to being crowned Miss North Dakota, Wolfe, who is originally from Carrington, was Miss West Fargo. Wolfe attends Minnesota State University Moorhead, Moorhead, Minnesota.
Wolfe’s competition wardrobe, including interview apparel, talent costume and evening wear, will be featured. She will also talk about the appearances she has made since being crowned Miss North Dakota in June in Williston. Wolfe will highlight her social impact initiative of “#BeThe1To” suicide prevention and awareness.
Guests will play bingo for prizes and a freewill offering will take place to raise funds to help with Wolfe’s travel and competition expenses. Gigi’s cupcakes, fruit and Colorado Jack’s popcorn will be served. Gelato will be available for purchase as part of the fundraiser.
Special guests will include Miss North Dakota’s Outstanding Teen 2019 Kaylee Moss, and emcee for the event will be Carrington native and Miss North Dakota 2010 Katie Ralston.
Wolfe, daughter of Angie Wolfe and Marty Bauer of Jamestown and David and Shari Wolfe of Esmond, is a graduate of Carrington High School and has completed her junior year at MSUM as an accounting major. She has taken this year off to concentrate on her upcoming school tour as Miss ND, promoting her personal social impact initiative of "#BeThe1To." Her presentations aim to teach others about suicide awareness and prevention through the #BeThe1To” program.
On Dec. 11, Wolfe will travel to Connecticut to begin preliminary competition for the Miss America Competition. She will compete, along with 51 other national candidates, for scholarship funds and the title of Miss America 2020. The final night of competition, Thursday, Dec. 19, will be televised live on the local NBC affiliate at 8 p.m.
