June 18: 5:59 p.m., the ready squad responded to 301 Seventh Ave. N.W. (Fall Hall Cottage, Anne Carlsen Center) to investigate a fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke and fire but none was found. Cause: accidental activation. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 15 minutes.

June 22: 12:35 a.m., the fire department hazardous materials team responded to U.S. Highway 281, east of Buchanan, N.D., to provide mutual aid for Jamestown Rural Fire Department on a chemical release. Cause:open valve on tank. No firefighter injuries. Time out: 2 hours.

June 22: 4 p.m., the ready squad responded to 401 Third St. S.E. (Innovis Health Clinic) to investigate a fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke and fire but none was found. Cause: fire drill training. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 15 minutes.

June 22: 8:14 p.m., the ready squad responded to 501 19th St. N.E. (Ave Maria Village) to investigate a fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke and fire but none was found. Cause: low battery. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 30 minutes.

June 23: 11:29 p.m., the fire department responded to 909 12th Ave. N.E. (apartment complex) to report of a fire in a Dumpster. Firefighters extinguished the fire and investigated. No firefighter injuries. Time out: 50 minutes.

June 23: 11:30 p.m., the ready squad responded to 311 Eighth Ave. S.E. (family dwelling) to investigate a gas odor. Firefighters checked the structure, but nothing was detected. Cause: unknown. Time out: 15 minutes.

June 24: 12:10 p.m., the ready squad responded to 419 Fifth St. N.E. (Jamestown Hospital) to investigate a fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke and fire but none was found. Cause: accidental activation. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 15 minutes.

June 24: 11:40 p.m., the ready squad responded to 1712 5 1/2 Ave. N.E. (family dwelling) to check for carbon monoxide. Firefighters checked with a multi-gas detector and 27 parts per million of carbon monoxide were detected. Occupant was advised to have the heating system checked by a qualified firm or individual. Cause: hot water heater. Time out: 30 minutes.

June 25: 2:14 a.m., the fire department responded to 1018 Fourth Ave. S.W. (parking lot of Jamestown Motel) to a report of a vehicle fire. Fire was extinguished upon arrival of fire units. Firefighters checked for hot spots and investigated. Cause: undetermined. No firefighter injuries. Time out: 45 minutes.
