FARGO — Madison Giesler, daughter of Carrie and Gary Giesler, Kulm, North Dakota, received the NDSU Presidential Honor Award at North Dakota State University. The award recognizes students who scored a 29-31 on the ACT and have a 3.5 or higher high school GPA.

Another bill would direct schools not to deny students meals, not take away food, not stigmatize students and not limit a student’s participation in activities because of meal debt.

Giesler entered NDSU this fall and is majoring in elementary education, human development and family science. In high school, she was active in choir, band, drama and North Dakota Leadership Seminar. She was Future Business Leaders of America local chapter president, Student Senate officer, yearbook senior editor and Beautiful Inside and Out girls mentor.

She also won the Future Business Leaders of America “Who's Who” Award 2020 and was a North Dakota “We The People” Unit 2 Winner.
