Jamestown Toastmasters met Dec. 8 at St. James Basilica. Sergeant-at-Arms Martin Monek called the meeting to order, and Bryan Jones, toastmaster for the week, was introduced. Jones shared some facts about December. Heather Goudreau was the evening’s speaker. She gave a humorous speech titled “Abducted.” The table topic master was Mike Schwartz.
Four members were asked questions in which they would give an impromptu speech of 1 to 2 minutes on the question that the table talking master asked. The question of the day was, “Why do you like a type of music?” This was answered by Monek, Jones, Goudreau and Cara Prescott. General evaluator Monek called upon members of the group to present their evaluations. Jones gave a timer’s report. Prescott gave her a counters and grammarian report. Diane Ridley evaluated Goudreau’s speech.
The next speaker will be Prescott. Jamestown Toastmasters meets at 6 p.m. Tuesdays at St. James Basilica. Guests are always welcome.
