The Jamestown Community Foundation has awarded a $4,500 grant to the Jamestown Gymnastics Club to assist with its Raise the Roof remodeling project. The walls of the building were expanded, the ceiling was raised to meet the high school gymnastics requirement, and the facility was made more wheelchair accessible. The trampoline was placed in the ground so that those who use a wheelchair can experience bouncing.
The goal of the organization is to provide students the opportunity to develop physical benefits such as strength, flexibility, coordination and agility to help them not only succeed in gymnastics but also in any other sport or activity. The Gymnastics Club is partnering with Anne Carlsen Center and Alpha Opportunities to offer special needs programming as well. Its regular programs include parent and tot, preschool, recreational, home school, competitive, ninja, show team and high school gymnastics.
