The Jamestown High School speech team began its 2022 season with a meet in Valley City on Jan. 15. JHS competed against 14 class A and B schools, placing third overall. Oliva Schriock and Paris Eslick placed first and state qualifying in a humorous duo. Individual results are as follows:

On Jan. 29, the team traveled to North Sargent High School in Gwinner to compete against 19 class A and B schools. JHS placed third overall and had third more state qualifiers: Madelyn Orr in radio broadcasting, Anja McDermid in serious prose, and Ross Motter in dramatic interpretation. February will be a busy month for JHS speech. The team will travel to St. Mary’s High School on Feb. 12, Fargo South on Feb.19 and Shiloh High School in Bismarck on the Feb. 26.
