At the Jamestown Lions May 10 meeting, President Kathy Boe introduced guests 5NE District Gov. Scott Hildre, Miriam Hildre and Global Service Team Coordinator Crystal Dueker.
District Gov. Scott Hildre has been a Lions member for 47 years and is a member of the Fargo Gateway Lions Club. Hildre brought a message from Lions Club International President Brian Sheehan and spoke on the theme “People uniting to build our communities, to be the helping hand, to change lives. Together.”

Hildre presented Boe, who is also a past district governor, with the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award. The award was given in appreciation of her service to the Lions and to this community. As a result, $1,000 has been donated to the Lions Club International Foundation in Boe's name. This is the official charitable organization of Lions Clubs International and supports Lions’ compassionate works by providing grant funding for their local and global humanitarian efforts.
