JRMC Auxiliary holds meeting

Under the new name of Jamestown Regional Medical Center Auxiliary, the group held its December meeting. Administrator Todd Hudspeth included in his update that the orthopedics department is busy with its new orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Michael Dean.

Members brought cookies which were delivered to Telecare clients in boxes decorated by Jeanette Srozinski. Santa Stockings made of fleece were made by Eunice Sahr, Mary England, Cindy Grimm and Kathy Huber, and will be given to newborns beginning Dec. 15. Jerri Holzer knit newborn caps of red snowflakes on white caps to also be given during the holidays.

The auxiliary has pledged $70,000 to the Hospital Foundation and will make another payment now of $10,000 in December. Fundraising efforts are going well, as the half of the pledge is now paid.

Elections were held for 2012. Officers are President Carolyn Exner, Vice President Marlys Perleberg, Secretary Cindy Grimm and Treasurer Lue Struble.

Members were reminded that the Hospital Gift Shoppe is an excellent source for Christmas gifts. New merchandise has been coming in weekly.

The auxiliary presented Ginne Hendrickson, volunteer coordinator, with a Christmas gift in appreciation for her support throughout the year. The next meeting will be at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 2 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center.
