Marie Monson, daughter of Todd and Ruth Monson, Jamestown, received the North Dakota State University Freshman Academic Scholarship in the amount of $1,500. The scholarship recognizes high academic achievement.
Monson will enter NDSU in the fall and plans to major in English. In high school, she was active in National Honor Society, National Society of High School Scholars, Who's Who Academic Excellence, cross country, track, volleyball, Blue Jay News, German club and Students Against Destructive Decisions. She also volunteers for the American Heart Association, the James River Humane Society and the Arts Center.
